In preparation for the New Hampshire Film Festival, October 17-20, we sat down with Danny Boy O’Connor from House of Pain, La Coka Nostra, Hell Fire Canyon Club and more recently, The Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team. The team will be presenting at the Film Festival on Saturday, October 19 from 4pm – 5:30pm at the Discover Portsmouth Center (you can catch the full schedule of events, including updates here). We asked Danny Boy to share a little bit about the team, where they came from and why this project is important to them:
What started out as a part-time hobby has turned into a serious brand. Danny Boy and the team are “pop culture detectives” that search out locations from some of America’s best vintage, classic and coming of age films and music videos. With their movie, music and law enforcement backgrounds, they search for iconic sets that sometimes have a bigger impact on the film than the characters. In cities like NY and LA, the urban landscape changes so frequently that history isn’t always preserved. The Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team finds these historic spots, documents them and posts them via Facebook and podcasts for others to enjoy. These “vintage location experts” share their finds weekly on their podcast on Fridays from 7-9 pm PST and you can also find them on Facebook.
